Engin Captain, an experienced marine and sailing instructor, conducts training sessions in Istanbul at Fenerbahçe Marina through his company established in 2013. Since 2018, he has expanded his training activities to Bodrum-MUĞLA, located on the south Aegean side of Turkey. Before establishing his current venture, he provided diverse training sessions for Competent Crews and Sailors. This center, Turkey’s inaugural maritime classroom, was founded by his family. The primary goal is not merely to offer temporary training but to equip sailors with the skills necessary for genuine sailing, enabling them to independently manage a boat. Born in Istanbul, Engin Captain hails from a family with a seafaring tradition and holds the title of a 3rd generation Ocean Going Captain. Commencing his career in commercial maritime, he received education from the Turkish Maritime Education Foundation, graduating as an Ocean Going Chief Officer. Engin served successively as the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd Captain on Turkish and foreign-flagged ships for various shipping companies. Since 2004, he has been involved in training sailors, recognizing the solitude they experience on their individual voyages and emphasizing the importance of relying on their own knowledge and skills.
