The boat was in excellent condition and they were very helpful with everything. The captain was great and he helped us navigate and find the best anchorages, but we could not sail at night which limited our range.

Çok güzel insanlarla tanıştık. Oldukça amatör ve iyi niyetli tekne sahibi olduklarını gördük. Yataklar, nevresimler, havlular tertemiz.

The boat was in great shape. Bali Catspace is an excellent catamaran for 1 week sailing with 6 people. The staff was excellent and helpful all the time. Check-in and check-out was smooth. Dingy needed inflation all the time. The outboard engine worked great. During our trip, cooking gas finished and to switch to the spare gas, we needed an adapter and had to wait for technician to bring it. Shortly, we didn't have any major issue; only small ones, and the company was quick to react and fix them. Thank you for this lovely week.

Chartering a Bareboat

Chartering a bareboat presents an opportunity to experience the beauty of the seas, lakes, and rivers at your own pace. Unplanned stops, swimming bays only a few people know, a fishing village with its unique cuisine - they all can be a part of your personal journey when you opt for a bareboat charter or a bareboat rental. Opting for a bareboat, be it hourly, daily, or weekly, grants you complete control over your itinerary. This luxury and the freedom to roam at your heart's content, with overnight accommodation on your private vessel, is just a few clicks away with viravira.co.

What are the popular destinations and routes for bareboat charter?

From the azure waters of the Mediterranean to the secluded archipelagos in Southeast Asia, bareboat charters offer endless route possibilities. If you plan to rent a bareboat 'near me', why not explore your local waterways first? However, if international sailing destinations call your name, consider the following beloved routes.

The glorious islands of Greece top the list, with Crete, Mykonos, and Rhodes offering magnificent views and breezy conditions. Procuring a bareboat for rental here is a no-brainer.

Spain’s Balearic Islands, best visited between April to October, is another renowned bareboat route worth considering. The waters of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera paint a perfect picture of tranquility.

The 'wind of the gods' blowing over the French Riviera, especially around the months of July and August, invites sailors from across the globe. The Amalfi Coast in Italy, with Positano and Capri on its map, presents an ideal route for bareboats for charter.

On the other side of the Atlantic, the Caribbean islands, particularly the Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, and Grenada, provide an unmatched sailing experience. In the Pacific, a bareboat charter to the stunning Whitsunday Islands of Australia won't disappoint. While these are only a few, virtually every corner of the globe has enticing waters to offer for your bareboat adventures.

What is the best time to charter a bareboat?

Chartering a bareboat is a year-round possibility with the Earth's diverse climate zones. A broad way to look at the best time for a bareboat charter is to aim for the local shoulder seasons. These periods, which fall between peak seasons and off seasons, offer a balance between good weather, fewer crowds, and reasonable rates.

For instance, the Mediterranean sees its best sailing climate from May to October, with the shoulder months of May, June, September, and October offering slightly calmer seas and lesser crowds. The Caribbean is alluring throughout the year, but be wary of hurricane season, which runs from June through November.

Ultimately, local weather tendencies, budget, and personal preferences play a significant role in determining the right time to charter a bareboat.

What license do I need to charter a bareboat?

While planning to charter a bareboat, it's crucial to be mindful of licensing and experience requirements, which can vary by destination. Most frequently, a sailing resume displaying your capabilities holds more significance than formal paperwork. However, destinations like Croatia and Greece mandate an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) or an equivalent national certificate.

A VHF license, permitting the use of a ship's radio station, is another common requirement. And, in case of navigating inland waters of Europe, an ICC for inland waters or a CEVNI test certificate proves necessary. We, at viravira.co, provide detailed information about what paperwork will be needed for your specific journey.

What to pack for a bareboat charter?

Packing for a bareboat charter is an art. Space is a luxury, thus taking along only the essentials is key. Begin with suitable clothing - bring lightweight apparel for the day and warmer layers for evenings. A waterproof and windproof jacket is an absolute must.
A comprehensive first-aid kit, prescriptions and other medications, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are important. Don't forget your swimwear and towels. Reef-friendly sun block and insect repellent can help protect you and the environment. For entertainment, pack as per your interest - fishing gear, a good read, board games, or water sports equipment. Last but not least, include passport, appropriate licenses, payment cards, and local currency. Remember, with a bareboat charter, you have the freedom to curate your journey as you wish. Ready to embark on an unforgettable sailing adventure? Find the perfect bareboat for rental on viravira.co and set sail!
