Gulet chartering introduces you to a captivating voyage where luxury meets adventure. Hailing from the exquisite coastlines of Turkey, these traditional wooden vessels offer an excellent sailing experience with ample space and comfort. With over 12,000 boats in 60 countries, viravira.co provides a diverse fleet of gulets for charter, accommodating various budgets and preferences for unforgettable sailing experiences.
The popularity of a Gulet cruise stretches across numerous countries and breathtaking routes. Turkey's eternal charm, as the homeland of these vessels, appeals to many. From the unforgettable turquoise waters of the Bodrum Peninsula to the historic ruins along the coast of Antalya, the options are abundant. Greece, with its iconic islands of Rhodes and Kos, is another idyllic destination to rent a gulet. The sailing routes of Italy, from the picturesque Amalfi Coast to the magnificent islands of Sicily, also hold their unique allure. Furthermore, the serene Dalmatian Coast and medieval towns of Croatia offer an enchanting backdrop for your Gulet vacation, especially with the option to charter a gulet weekly or even daily for concentrated exploration.
The best period for a gulet charter may vary according to your preferred destination. Coastal Turkey and Greece enjoy warm temperatures from May to October, making it an ideal time for that anticipated gulet cruise. Meanwhile, Italy and Croatia offer superb sailing conditions during July and August. However, sailing enthusiasts seeking solitude might prefer the shoulder seasons of Spring and early Autumn, where fewer crowds result in more availability for bareboat or crewed gulet rentals, not to mention more exclusive use of the marinas and anchorages.
While gulets exude a timeless beauty, their size and design necessitate a certain level of expertise to navigate. Therefore, the majority of gulet cruises come with an experienced skipper. This not only ensures your journey's safety but also lets you enjoy your sailing vacation without the stress of navigation. For those with a valid sailing license and substantial experience, some companies might provide the opportunity for a skippered gulet rental.
Embarking on a gulet charter with a full crew offers an unrivaled sailing vacation. The crew's local knowledge and professionalism can enhance your adventure, delivering top-notch service from the kitchen to deck. On crewed gulet charters, you are free to unwind, explore, and indulge in all-inclusive luxury while your crew takes care of the vessel's operations and cater to your personal preferences.
If you've been inspired to take the helm and charter a gulet bareboat, you will need to possess an appropriate sailing license. The requirements vary depending on the country, but generally, an International Certificate of Competence or a national equivalent is accepted. However, given the size and complexity of these vessels, prior sailing experience is strongly recommended. Always check with the charter company or with viravira.co's professional team regarding specific license requirements.
Packing for a gulet cruise should balance between necessary and minimalistic. Casual, comfortable attire works best on board, keeping in mind the varying temperatures at sea. Don't forget your swimwear, sunglasses, hats, and plenty of sunscreen. Although gulets generally come with safety equipment, it's always good to carry personal items like a first aid kit or a personal life jacket. Lastly, bring onboard your favourite leisure activities to enjoy during those downtime moments under the sparkling stars. Remember, many gulet rentals offer overnight accommodation options, ensuring you can pack for a comfortable stay.

Murat and his sister are excellent hosts. Very friendly and kind; they treated us very well. Murat knows the coast very well and is also a very good cook. The boat is in perfect condition and clean. For our part, the whole family was very satisfied with the day trip. Best regards.

The Gocek bay is magical and Ertan’s boat was excellent, many place to stay and relax. Ertan was very kind and helping and his mother was a fantastic cooker . The only bad thing is the crowd. Too many boats in the bay. I think the best would be to come in another period that summer.
